Sending from Overseas has Massive Jump at PACK & SEND

Need to Import to NZ from overseas?

Over the last twelve months PACK & SEND stores have seen a massive surge in importing from overseas for their customers. “As at the end of December our imports had grown 400% compared to the same time last year” says Nathan Paul, National Operations Manager at PACK & SEND New Zealand.

Our stores have imported car parts, fabric, excess baggage, electronics with lithium batteries and a whole bunch of online shopping items that were too hard to move by the overseas seller.

With a strong New Zealand dollar and the ease of access via the internet, online and overseas purchases are becoming easier to perform. Unfortunately some sellers still have issues around arranging international freight and are reluctant to provide this service.

When an online retailer or overseas seller can’t or won’t provide an international freight solution, thenPACK & SEND can assist with getting your purchases back home.

“PACK & SEND usually move those items that are too big for the postal service, or may contain lithium batteries – which are restricted when sending internationally.” say Nathan Paul.

Using our extensive International Freight Network,PACK & SEND can pick up your items from virtually anywhere in the world and have it delivered to your door in a matter of days.

New Zealand Customs Duty and Taxes

One area of confusion when importing goods from overseas is whether New Zealand Customs will charge additional duties and other taxes on top of the purchase and freight costs.

To assist customers in evaluating whether an overseas purchase will be viable or cost effective, New Zealand Customs have designed a website and mobile app to provide some information around this area. Please follow this link to learn more http://www.whatsmyduty.org.nz/whats-my-duty
