Excess baggage, luggage or personal effects, are terms used to describe items of personal property that you own and consign for shipment overseas. PACK & SEND offers a range of personalised unaccompanied baggage and luggage services to meet the needs of:

International university students
International backpackers
Visiting tourists on holiday
Corporate business people with deadlines

PACK & SEND offers a range of sea freight, air freight and international courier services for sending unaccompanied personal effects and excess baggage overseas.

Door-to-Door and Door-to-Depot services

The PACK & SEND ‘Door-to-Door’ service, covers standard customs clearance and delivery to your door (excluding government charges and taxes). The Door-to-Depot service is for delivery to the depot only. With the Door-to-Depot service, there may be further charges to pay at the destination, which may include terminal handling, storage and documentation fees. At most destinations, you can clear goods by yourself to avoid customs clearance charges, but it requires time to visit the Customs office with your passport, shipping documents and complete the necessary Customs forms.

Air Freight or Sea Freight?

PACK & SEND offers both air freight and sea freight services for personal effects and excess baggage. Experience has found when sending from New Zealand that up to 100 kilograms can sometimes be more economical by air than by sea.
Sea freight generally starts to become economical when the size of your shipment approaches 1 cubic metre or 8 shipping cartons (Removalist Boxes 42x44x61cm). You may be able to get together with other friends returning home or moving overseas to consolidate your personal effects and save money. Sending suitcase to UK or anywhere?

It's true you get what you pay for. Pack & Send is a little more expensive than other carriers, but very well worth it. I've sent some very fragile, valuable and HEAVY things around the place with these guys. Always the best packaging and handling, and incredibly fast.

Last time I used another NZ wide postal service and the 10 day delivery ended up taking 3 months to arrive (with no tracking!). Blown away at these guys' packaging. I had a very fragile and large item sent last week.. it did take a bit longer to arrive than anticipated but when I saw how well it was wrapped I could see why. A foam padded box, bubblewrap, cardboard and cable ties. These guys sure know how to package stuff properly. AAA+++

I would like to publicly thank, and recommend Richard from Tauranga Pack and Send. I required an urgent shipment of furniture and personal effects from Whakatane to Sydney in a very short time-frame and Richard could not have been more accommodating or willing! He uplifted within a couple of days and when I went to his office in Tauranga the day after uplifting to complete all the paperwork, he had packaged all items so thoroughly and carefully. He also helped me complete the customs paperwork very efficiently and within about 20 minutes we were all done! He kept me informed of progress and I received my shipment at my home in Sydney exactly one week later! Richard is professional, efficient and he cares about what he does.
