International & Domestic Aviation Security

PACK & SEND is required to comply with New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations regarding the security of air cargo. These regulations ensure the safety of air transport and apply to both international and domestic shipments sent via PACK & SEND.

Security Requirements for Air Cargo Consignments

To comply with aviation security requirements, PACK & SEND follows strict identification and screening processes for consignments traveling by air.

Identification Requirements

• For international shipments, all customers lodging freight with PACK & SEND must provide acceptable photo or signature identification at the time of booking.
• For domestic air shipments, identification requirements may apply depending on the nature of the goods and the airline's security policies.
• Acceptable forms of ID include a valid passport, New Zealand driver’s license, or another government-issued photo ID.

Screening and Inspection

• All air cargo must undergo security screening, which may include physical inspection, X-ray scanning, or other approved methods.
• Any consignment that does not meet security requirements may be delayed or refused for transport.
• PACK & SEND complies with Part 109 of the New Zealand Civil Aviation Rules, which governs the secure handling of air cargo.

Prohibited & Restricted Items

Certain goods are prohibited from being sent via air freight due to safety concerns. These include, but are not limited to:

• Dangerous goods such as explosives, flammable liquids, and toxic substances (unless declared and properly packaged under IATA regulations).
• Items that pose a security risk, including weapons and controlled substances.
• Any undeclared restricted items that require special approval for transport.
