Big Trophy no challenge for PACK & SEND Stores

There must have been something in the water in the South Island recently with two PACK & SEND stores asked to pack and send taxidermied animals to locations in the North Island.

PACK & SEND Riccarton was recently asked to pack and send a large Kudu head to Wellington. A Kudu is a type of antelope mainly found in Eastern Africa and was proudly displayed on the wall at the North Canterbury Hunting and Fishing store, and PACK & SENDQueenstown was asked to pack and send a deer stag with intricate antlers to a customer in Palmerston North.

Alongside the big game trophies was a smaller, but just as interesting, evil looking badger recently sold on Trade Me to a buyer in Auckland. On picking up the badger, the seller admitted that he was loathed to sell the “wee fella” but it was terrorising both the kids and dog when they entered the living room.

All the animals were packed into custom-made cartons, protected by PACK & SEND’s Foam-in-Place packaging and sent to the door. “The Foam-in-Place packaging is ideal for these types of items as the animals are delicate in areas such as the ears, tails and, in the case of the Kudu and Deer, the antlers. The foam absorbs any shock and vibration from the handling during the transportation of the items and ensures the safe travel and future enjoyment once delivered” explains Nathan Paul, PACK & SEND‘s National Operations Manager.

The receiver of the Stag’s head emailed the PACK & SEND Queenstown store –

“Just a note to thank you very much for the excellent job packaging our deer antlers sent last week. They arrived perfectly; really impressed with the care and detail you went to with the packaging. Much appreciated. Cheers Callum”
